TERMS & CONDITIONS
The Noosa Regional Gallery Travelling Scholarship is presented by the Friends Noosa Regional Gallery Inc.
The scholarship is an initiative of the Sunshine Coast Regional Council and the Friends Noosa Regional Gallery Inc.
The non-acquisitive Scholarship includes $12,000 and a solo exhibition at the Noosa Regional Gallery. It is intended that the scholarship funds be used towards overseas or interstate travel, accommodation, living expenses, course fees and art materials required for the program of study.
During the solo exhibition at the Noosa Regional Gallery, the artist is required to undertake activities that will engage the community i.e. workshop, demonstration and/or talk. These will be facilitated by the Noosa Regional Gallery.
The scholarship has to be taken up within 12 month of winning.
The date and size of the solo exhibition will be determined by the Curator of the Noosa Regional Gallery and is required to commence within 24 month of being awarded the Travelling Scholarship prize.
A non-acquisitive Highly Commended Prize of $2,500 will also be announced at the launch.
A non-acquisitive People’s Choice Prize to the value of $2,500 will be announced 2 weeks prior conclusion of exhibition.
Participants will be selected from entries submitted to the preselection panel. Any artist working in Australia in any 3D medium may enter.
The Travelling Scholarship Prize Management Committee will invite 40 artists recommended by the preselection panel to exhibit one work in The Travelling Scholarship.
General terms & conditions
• Only one entry per applicant
• No work submitted shall have been entered into the Noosa Regional Gallery Travelling Scholarship in any previous year.
• Entries must be the original unaided work of the entrant.
• All expenses entailed in the submission of entries are the responsibility of the applicant.
• The preselection panel’s and judges decision for the Noosa Regional Gallery Travelling Scholarship is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
• No third party may enter works on behalf of an Artist.
• Entries representing partnerships between individuals will be accepted as one entry and on the understanding that each partner’s contribution is deemed equal.
• Employees of the Sunshine Coast Council are not eligible to enter.
Works must be available for viewing for the entire duration of the exhibition.
Pre-selection Process
The images submitted to the preselection panel must include the work intended for the Prize. Please send images to the preselection panel in the formats described. No additional material, text or images will be viewed by the panel.
Size: Artwork for the Prize shall not be larger then 2 metres square with a height restriction of 2 metres. Any individual component shall not exceed 50kg in weight, with any overall weight not exceeding 200kg.
Elegibel Art Work: Only 3D artworks will be accepted for the Travelling Schoalrship prize. Due to size limitations projections can not be accepted.
Finalist works selected for the Travelling Scholarship exhibition will demonstrate the artist’s current art practise and only works that have been completed since 1 January 2009 will be considered for exhibition.
Artists wishing to enter the Noosa Regional Gallery Travelling scholarship should provide the following to the pre-selection panel by 31 March 2011, as part of the online application.

• 6 images only of original work completed between 2009 - 2011.

• Applicant to supply a brief description of proposed study program (150 words maximum)
Applicants who are unable to complete an online entry may request an Official Entry Form by emailing Noosa Regional Gallery at gallery.noosa@sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au Mail applicants must submit via post the completed Official Entry Form and a CD containing images of the Works, the Artist Statements and Artist CV following the guidelines listed above, along with a payment of cheque or money order. Please do not send cash.

Works for final exhibition
The Noosa Regional Gallery reserves the right to determine the most appropriate method for displaying works to ensure public safety, and to refuse to display any works deemed inappropriate or unsafe.
The work is to be presented ready for assembly or display. All fixtures and fittings required are to be included with detailed instructions for installation.
Works to be delivered to the Noosa Regional Gallery from Wednesday 20 July -Friday 22 July 2011, during Gallery hours 10am-4pm.
All unsold works must be collected from the Noosa Regional Gallery on Monday, 12 September 1pm.
Publication and Copyright
The Artist shall not publish or promote the exhibition externally within a period of 30 days prior to and after the exhibition, without authorisation from the Noosa Regional Gallery.The Noosa Regional Gallery assumes all entries are original and are the works and/or property of the entrant with all rights granted therein. The shortlisted applicants may be asked to provide high-resolution scalable Vector graphic versions of their submission for promotional material or publication. Noosa Regional Gallery is not liable for any copyright infringement on the part of the entrant.
SUBMITTING IMAGES
6 Images only of 3 different artworks
In jpeg, jpg, png or gif format only (300dpi, min. 1MB and max. 2MB )
Each filename should be clearly labelled with the artist's; surname (capitals), first name (lowercase)
number of work submitted. eg. SMITH, John 1.jpg, SMITH, John 2.jpg, SMITH, John 3.jpg
The file number must correspond with entry form number
Please note, when applying online, the system will automatically include your username at the beginning of the filename
